Would the probiotic VSL #3, used to treat IBD in dogs, be beneficial or deleterious in dogs with idiopathic epilepsy? The usual dose is 4.5x1011CFU and consists of 8 species of lactic acid bacteria.

The probiotic VSL #3 has been studied as a treatment for inflammatory bowel disease in dogs, but there is no data to say whether or not this probiotic is beneficial in dogs with epilepsy.
