Question submitted by the audience in our recent webinar: "The Itchy Dog":
Is there a newer treatment for demodex besides Ivermectin ... which affected my dog's liver when she was 9 weeks old. She has demodex now a 3rd time, is 3 yrs old and we're working on strengthening her immune system, but she had a heat cycle recently & now a flare up in demodex. Trying to treat naturopathically & do not want to do Ivermectin, but what else is there? Using Mite Avenge shampoo/treatment to kill mites from outside. Thank you.

Speak with your veterinarian about using either of the 2 new isoxazoline parasiticides – afoxolaner (Nexgard) or fluralaner (Bravecto) – both are typically effective treatments for demodex.
