Audience question from my webinar on Cognitive Dysfunction:
Is there any data for dogs regarding early onset canine cognitive dysfunction? I am not a veterinarian, so I'm making a (perhaps inappropriate) analogy with human early onset Alzheimers ...
Thanks for this question! Clinically, the early signs of cognitive dysfunction that I see and hear about are late-onset anxiety disorders, especially separation anxiety or night-time panic attacks. The data support that dogs as young as 8 years can have changes in their abilities to complete cognitive tasks.
