Is there any correlation between PU and other illnesses such as Cushings, immune related issues, or hypothyroidism? In other words, can PU be triggered by a systemic illness?
Dr. Wendy Townsend, DVM, MS, DACVO responded:
So far we do not have any indication that PU can be triggered by a systemic illness. So we don’t see PU more in dogs with hypothyroidism or Cushings.
