Question submitted by the audience in our recent webinar: Understanding Steroid Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis and Other Inflammatory Neurological Disorders of Dogs:
Can SRMA make a dog more susceptible to epilepsy occurrences?
Answer by: Karen R. Muñana, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Neurology):
A diagnosis of SRMA should not make a dog more susceptible to seizures. A dog with the chronic form of SRMA could potentially develop signs of cerebral disease, including seizures, but this is very rare.
