Question submitted by the audience in our recent webinar: Understanding Steroid Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis and Other Inflammatory Neurological Disorders of Dogs:
Is there a difference in possible causes of SRMA that occurs once in a dog and is treated successfully in a short period vs the type where it keeps coming back as the medication is being lowered?
Answer by: Karen R. Muñana, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Neurology):
To date, no differences have been identified between dogs that have disease relapse compared to those that do not. Therefore, we have not been able to recognize predictors of relapse.
