Limping after surgery for Fragmented Medial Coronoid Process

    Audience question:

I have a 10 month old puppy, who just had surgery for Fragmented Medial Corononoid Process bilateral, Elbow Dysplasia. He has been on crate rest, x pen rest, leash walks and swimming. How long should it be before I see the limp to be gone? I have done ACP, Adequan shots and Polyglycan shots. He is going on 5 weeks since surgery….

It really depends on how severe the FMCP was and how the rest of the joint looked and what type of surgery was done. Typically takes about 12 weeks to have mature repair tissue in the joint and many dogs do not peak until up to 6 months after surgery.
