Brief Bio (include professional interests, hobbies, etc.):
Dr. Lakritz grew up in Hanford, California and after working in a small animal veterinary clinic he went to Veterinary school at UC Davis (graduated in 1987). He completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery (UGA) and a residency in Large Animal Medicine (UCD). Dr. Lakritz pursued interests in pulmonary disease and completed a doctoral program focusing on metabolism of drugs by the lung. In 1998 he completed the requirements for board certification in Large Animal Internal Medicine and was hired as an assistant professor of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Veterinary medicine. In 2003 he was hired by The Ohio State University as a faculty member in Food Animal. In 2014, he completed the requirements for board certification in Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology. He lives with Antoinette and their 2 Jack Russell Terriers, 4 heifers and 3 goats and 2 llamas on a small farm in Plain City, OHIO.
