Dr. Pedro Diniz is an Associate Professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) College of Veterinary Medicine since 2009. He is specialized in cardiology and zoonotic vector-borne diseases in companion animals. Dr. Diniz obtained the DVM degree and PhD in Clinical Sciences from the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil, and for three years was a postdoctoral research fellow at North Carolina State University at Dr. Breitschwerdt’s lab. Dr. Diniz has published over 50 manuscripts on Vector-Borne Diseases or Internal Medicine, being cited over 1600 times. He is also author of several book chapters in respected texbooks such as Ettinger’s Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Kirk’s Current Veterinary Therapy, Greene’s Infectious Diseases of the Dog and Cat, Coté’s Clinical Veterinary Advisory, and the Five-Minute Veterinary Consult.
