Brief Bio (include professional interests, hobbies, etc.):
I began working in the veterinary field in 1979 and received a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis in 1981. Shortly thereafter, I earned the designation of Registered Veterinary Technician and began working in Sacramento, CA as a surgery technician. In 1990 I took on leadership roles and moved through the ranks to hold positions ranging from Lead Technician, Hospital Manager, Hospital Director, and finally Regional Manager, overseeing the operations of 13 hospitals. In 1999 I branched out on my own as a consultant. I still maintain a relationship with the hospitals where I previously worked and occasionally work relief as an RVT or Customer Service Representative.
A VHMA member since 1994, I earned the distinction of CVPM in 1996. As a management consultant, I provide management support for emergency, specialty and general practices, as well as performing equipment and inventory appraisals. I am an instructor for Patterson Veterinary University and teach practice management modules accross the US. I am a former hospital inspector for the California Veterinary Medical Board where I assisted hospitals in maintaining minimum standards. I am a current member of VetPartners and the CMA.
When I have free time - I enjoy all outdoor activities and spending time with my family and my many, many animals.
