    Systemic hypertension is a common but often underrecognized condition in small animal practice. This session will explore how to identify at-risk patients, understand the impact of hypertension on target organs, and effectively measure blood pressure in clinical settings. Dr. Acierno will share insights and practical guidance on interpreting blood pressure results and initiating evidence-based treatment protocols for both feline and canine patients. Special emphasis will be placed on emerging therapies, monitoring strategies, and optimizing outcomes in patients with concurrent disease.

    Discussion will include:

    - How to differentiate between idiopathic, secondary, and situational hypertension in veterinary patients
    - Application of updated ACVIM guidelines for blood pressure classification and risk stratification in cats and dogs
