As we all know, one reason that pets are relinquished, given up to shelters, or euthanized is because they turn out to be unsuccessful matches in households, or because families are ill-prepared for the responsibility of caring for the pet.
The holidays are a time of the year when gifting a cute puppy or kitten (or other furry pet) is common. Although the intentions are always good, the result or recipient’s response may not quite add up to what one expects or hopes for.
