This question was submitted during the webinar titled: PU - What's That? Golden Retriever Pigmentary Uveitis:
What are your findings on the iridocorneal angle in affected dogs with PU? Is there a correlation?
Dr. Wendy Townsend, DVM, MS, DACVO responded:
Good question. Typically in dogs with PU the iridocorneal angle is normal initially. Then some free pigment may start to collect within the angle. As the PU progresses we can start to see peripheral anterior synechia - either if cysts cause the iris to bow forward or if the fibrinous material collects in the anterior chamber.
