Question submitted by the audience in our recent webinar: Understanding Steroid Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis and Other Inflammatory Neurological Disorders of Dogs:
When and when should you not use steroids to treat Steroid Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis, and which steroids do you choose and when?
Answer by: Karen R. Muñana, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Neurology):
Corticosteroids are the first line treatment for SRMA, with prednisone being used most commonly. All dogs should be started on corticosteroids once a diagnosis is made.
