Compensation

It's long been known that the veterinary profession lags in annual salaries as compared to other health professions.  I had a good chuckle when I ready this article in the New York Times, titled "Sued Over Pay, Condé Nast Ends Internship Program".

Times have changed some, but I recall working 50-70 hours per week during my internship - between regular day shifts and overnights to cover the emergencies and overnight care - and the $14,400 annual salary I was paid for that experience and "right of passage" to pursue my residency training.  I'm not saying that was "right," and I did grumble now and then about the long hours - but that's what I signed up for.  It's not like it was a surprise.  I'd say it takes a lot of gall to file a lawsuit on the grounds of being underpaid.  Thoughts?

The Best Doctor in the world is "VETERINARIAN"

He can't ask his Patients "What is the Matter"?

    He Just Got To Know.

We should ponder over this matter of Underpaid Vets.
