The effect of music on anxiety and stress levels in humans and animals has been previously studied, and the positive impact of classical music on animals has been demonstrated. It's also been shown that cats under anesthesia demonstrate different physiological responses to the various types of music played in their environment.

A trip to the veterinarian's office can be stressful for both the pet and its owner. Melissa Bain, DVM, DACVB, DACAW, MS - a veterinary behaviorist at UC Davis - recently spoke with us about findings of a published study of the effects of classical music on dog behavior (anxiety and aggression) and pet owner satisfaction with the veterinary visit:
